Bridging the gap between the internet and cars
The SafetyNet Capstone project is aimed at devising a state of the art, automated driver alert system. The product will provide users with awareness of their surroundings to avoid potentially dangerous scenarios before they occur.
Most traffic safety assist features operate on a reactive basis. The SafetyNet team is committed to create a system that allows cars to openly communicate information that allows for proactive driving decisions. We have sought to fill this need by creating a GPS enabled device that actively transmits position and driver rating data to nearby vehicles.

By the Numbers
An intensive research completed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration concludes that a wide scale implementation of a V2V communication system would help by
80%
Less vehicle collisions
615,000
Number of motor crashes prevented
1,080
Lives potentially saved
